Katie, I remember a seder at Phil and Nancy's, featuring my beloved Haggadah from the feminist group I used to celebrate with in Vancouver, at which you declared the text "not traditional" enough for your taste. I presume your tastes have changed since then--and I spared you my rather academic views on the invention of tradition. But I do miss family at such times...Love,

Carla

Hi Kate

It was interesting to scan over how the program of teaching/indoctrination techniques written into the bible were still running in your experience.

Just an fyi if you're interested.

The enacting and participation of 'Historical' accounts/stories, as part of the planning to write the Hebrew Bible is detailed in Plato. The planning also aimed for an antiquity i.e. the story is deliberately stitched into ancient history places and records, well before it was written.

Anyway the skinny is that the Judaeo-Christian foundations of western society are a fabrication of the philosophical ruling class.

Of course preconceptions and beliefs of all sorts very often dismiss this out of hand so the truth necessary to dispel foundational lies doesn't even get looked at. If you're the one in a million or whatever the rate is, you could start here: http://sensible-reason.org/plato-and-the-hebrew-bible-1/

Cheers Sincerely David
