I just started reading your substack. I really enjoyed this last one I read. Snorkeling does sound fun, but I think I would be up half the night too pondering everything that could go wrong and finally just enjoying it. When you brought up colonoscopy reminded me that I'm behind on mine. Right now I have to get my teeth fixed before I can go in and have a total hip replacement. One Step At A time. Looking forward to reading more of your your post.
Hi Karen! And thank you for the kind words. I’m happy I’m not alone. I agree with you, time has softened some of my doggedness. Part wisdom, part exhaustion. Welcome! 🥳
That teacup you mentioned moves the way my brain rocks: all over the place. Over-thinkers anonymous proud member here!
I continue to take pride in being your cousin every time I see a well-framed photograph or read what you write. I have so many talented cousins! Please spread your words widely and frequently. Your work is rare, magnetic, and valuable.
I share all of what you describe, including the teacup! Maybe the hysterical level laughter the teacups inspire, somehow connected to that tummy feel, is what prompted me to jump off a cliff one time on a rafting trip. The inspiration to impress my kids was strong (it worked!) and I watched a lot of others do it first. The moments you remind me of are sweet respite from whatever I’m wigging out about of a week💪🏻😄. Too cool! And much thanks.

Love you, cuz!
Oh, Laura, thank you!!!! That means so much to me!

I agree that the kids were the best motivators. But you jumped off a cliff. I am impressed! I can't tell you what your kind words mean to me....
“Anxiety ridden doom spiral” sounds -- once again -- so accurate and familiar, but when YOU write these feelings it makes me laugh!
You truly enjoyed the experience of snorkeling. So happy that you were able to view the beauty that lies beneath us. How about that moving conch!?
Thank you for constantly pointing me towards the light, and the conches. 😂
